Barley is the most solicited grain

Barley is according to the information of the Universal Commodity Market (UCM) of Moldova one of the most solicited grain by the foreign customers. The head of UCM, Ludmila Moraru, told Info-Prim neo that unfortunately the last year’s barley harvest of Moldova was of only 200 thousand tones, while only one single customer presented UCM a request for 100 thousand tones. Moraru says that the total export potential of Moldova according to the last year’s harvest constituted only 129 thousand tones. Ukraine placed 2nd in the world ranking of barley exports. The quoted source considers that Moldovan producers must follow the example of Ukraine and develop barley’s production capacities because “it is a culture that has good chances”.
