The Bardar Health Center in Ialoveni district was supplied with equipment for physiotherapy thanks to the support of the Government of Japan, which offered the institution US$20,251 in grant funding through the agency of the Kusanone Program, IPN reports.

In a press release, the Embassy of Japan said the funds were used to purchase five devices for electrotherapy, laser therapy, ultrasound therapy, mangnetotherapy and vacuum therapy, the furniture needed for procedures and sterilization equipment. The equipment comes to contribute to strengthening the capacities to perform high-quality and safe physiotherapy procedures for the residents of Bardar and Pojăreni villages.

Speaking about the efforts made by the health workers in Moldova during the pandemic and the management of the flow of Ukrainian refugees, the Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Moldova, Yamada Yoichiro, said that Moldova showed exemplary professionalism in dealing with the enormous challenges it faced. “The Government of Japan will continue to work with you during your trip of accession to the European Union,” stated the ambassador.

The Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects – Kusanone Program was launched in Moldova in 2008. So far Japan provided over US$7.3 million in grant funding for 87 projects in education, healthcare and public utilities.
