The Balti Clinical Hospital was provided with medical equipment and consumables worth USD 125,000 within a project implemented by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Republic of Moldova. The equipment and consumables consist of the -2D AESCULAP laparoscopic tower for mini-invasive surgeries, IPN reports.

Thanks to the contribution of this particular technology, the surgical team will be able to perform a wide range of minimally invasive surgical procedures for thousands of patients, both Ukrainians and Moldovans, with a smaller incision, faster recovery times for patients and better quality of their care.

Since the beginning of the full-scale war, IOM has supported people fleeing Ukraine and the government of the Republic of Moldova to strengthen the Health System and the contingency preparedness of health structures.

From February 2022 to March 2024, over 115,000 displaced people were assisted through IOM emergency support projects.

This donation was made possible thanks to the financial support of US Department of State’s Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration (PRM) within the project “PRM Contribution to the IOM Regional Appeal for Ukraine and Neighboring Countries – 2023” implemented by IOM in Moldova.
