The awardees of the 20th International Children’s and Youth Book Fair held on April 14-17 became known. The award “Ion Creanga” for activity in the area of children’s books, which is offered by the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau, went to Nicolae Dabija, IPN reports, quoting the organizers.
The award “Igor Vieru” for activity in the area of illustrations for children’s books, which is provided also by the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau, was given to Constantin Balan.
The poetry award “Grigore Vieru”, offered by the Romanian Cultural Institute “Mihai Eminescu” in Chisinau, was conferred on Ion Anton. The “Book of the Year” awardm offered by the Ministry of Culturem went to Stela Popa for the book “Angels of the sea”, while “Children’s Sympathy” went to Claudia Partole for the book “My friend Elenis… or how I became a writer”.
Lidia Codreanca received the award “Cognitive book” for the “Antique world”, while the publishing house “Stiinta” got the ward “Reference book” for “The Red Book of the Republic of Moldova”.
The award “The most successful book collection for children” was conferred on the publishing house “Litera” for the collection “Illustrated Romanian writers”. Olga Cazacu got the award “Most successful graphic presentation of book” for “A secret on cotcodacnet” by Arcadie Suceveanu.
The “Most successful book illustration in the original” award went to Simion Zamsa for the illustrations for a number of volumes of the collection “Illustrated Romanian writers”, while the “Most successful translation” award was given to Valentina Buzila for the translation of the book “Abel Sánchez” by Miguel de Unamuno.
The Embassy of Hungary in Moldova received the award for the nicest stand, while Eleonora Culac, of the News program of Radio Moldova, got the award for the mass media.
