School students enter the autumn vacation on Monday, October 28, and will return to classes on November 4. As the vacation was extended, the November 1 lessons will be made up on November 9, IPN reports.
The Ministry of Education and Research decided that all vacations during the year will be integrated and will last for five days. "We wanted to avoid the situation when students, during a week, study for two days and are on vacation for three days, or one day they are on vacation, return to school and then go on vacation again. We do not believe that such a model is good either for parents or for the educational process itself," Minister Dan Perciun said earlier.
Thus, the autumn vacation begins on October 28 and ends on November 3. The winter vacation, which is an inter-semester one, will last from December 25 until January 8. The spring vacation will last from March 3 until March 9, and the March 3 lessons will be made up on March 15. At the same time, the Easter vacation will start on April 19 and will end on April 28.
For the two make-up days, November 9 and March 15, which are both Saturdays, teachers will receive a paid leave day that they will be able to take during students' vacations. Thus, according to the Ministry of Education, they will receive two salaries for working on Saturdays and will have one more leave day.
