Autumn sowing works will start in late September, although the Prime Minister said earlier that sowing would start in the second half of the month. According to Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Anatolie Gorodenco, out of 420,000 hectares planned to be sowed this fall, 300,000 hectares have been prepared so far. Gorodenco assured the Premier at the meeting of the Commission for Emergencies that all the preparations for autumn sowing will be finished in due time. According to the cited source, the start has been delayed by weather conditions. Some farmers will begin sowing after September 20. The minister added that 13% of the farmland planned to be sowed in spring has been already ploughed. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry, some 1,100 farm enterprises have received already state subsidies for sowing preparations.
