During a visit to the Chisinau Electrical Substation, Minister of Energy Dorin Junghietu observed that construction work for the installation of equipment is in full swing and showing visible progress, IPN reports.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Energy, the foundation work for the 400 kV equipment is in its final execution stage. Additionally, around 80% of the primary equipment needed for the station's modernization has been delivered to the country, including the 630 MVA autotransformer, high-voltage circuit breakers, and disconnectors for 330 kV and 400 kV.

During discussions, Ruslan Surugiu, Director of the Consolidated Unit for the Implementation and Monitoring of Energy Projects (UCIPE), stated that the contractor's work schedule is being strictly monitored to ensure the project is completed within the proposed timeframe.

The Chisinau Electrical Substation is being modernized by expanding the existing 330 kV installation with a new 400 kV cell for the Vulcanesti-Chisinau overhead power line, including the installation of a 400/330 kV autotransformer.

The contracted company carrying out the work is a consortium of Siemens Energy SRL, Electromontaj SA, and Energotech SA from Romania. The project is being implemented by the government with support from the World Bank.
