The basements of apartment buildings in Chisinau municipality are subject to an extensive process of disinsection and deratization. Last week, specialized teams intervened in more than 300 basements out of a total of 2,500 planned to be processed by November.
Officials of the General Housing and Amenities Division have told IPN that the works started in mid-April. The economic operator carrying them out was selected by a public tender contest, as required by law. After the completion of the scheduled works, additional interventions will be performed at the request of residents of the capital city.
About 4 million lei was allocated from the municipal budget for the purpose, thus ensuring the efficient conduct of the operations necessary to maintain hygiene and public health in Chisinau, the Division specified.
