The Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) of the Republic of Moldova invites all the pro-Romanian and unionist political forces to form a national list of candidates for the snap parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021. The parties are invited to come to the Hall of the Writers Union of Moldova at 11am on May 12, IPN reports.

According to the president of AUR of the Republic of Moldova Vlad Biletski, AUR is not yet a political party. It a project that unites and the transformation of the Romanian People’s Party into the Alliance for the Union of Romanians is a proof of this. AUR aims to bring to an end the division of the unionists, which is one of the causes why the unionists are not represented in Parliament at present.

“We are expecting near us representatives of all the parties and political forces that plead this cause and I will name these so as to avoid interpretation: the Liberal Party and Dorin Chirtoacă, the Union “Save Bessarabia” and Valeriu Munteanu, Vasile Costiuc and “Democracy at Home”, the National Unity Patty and Octavian Țîcu. We all share the same cause. There is no reason, no excuse not to combine forces, but there are 1,000 of reasons and a moral duty to join forces so as to show to the unionists that we deserve their trust and vote,” stated Vlad Biletski.

He also said that AUR comes to Moldova’s Parliament with a triple goal – to improve the living conditions for all the Moldovans (highways, schools, hospitals,  infrastructure), not to allow pro-Russian parties that sell the country and betray the national interests to come to power and to stop the thefts from the state budget.

At the parliamentary elections held in Romania last December, the Alliance for the Union of Romanians gained about 60,000 votes of the Romanians in the Republic of Moldova, contributing this way to the election of 47 members of the party as parliamentarians and senators, six of whom are from Moldova.
