Athlete Ion Luchianov finishes tenth at World Championship

Moldovan athlete Ion Luchianov ranked tenth in the final of the 3,000 m hurdles at the World Athletics Championship taking place in Moscow, Russia. He had the time of 8.19, 99 minutes, IPN reports.

The race was won by Kenya’s Ezekiel Kemboi, who thus became triple world champion.

It was for the second consecutive time that Ion Luchianov qualified for the final of the 3,000 m hurdles at a World Championship. In 2011, he finished eighth. In the same events of the Olympics Games of 2008 and 2012, he ranked 12th and 10th respectively.

Marathon runners Sergiu Ciobanu and Roman Prodius will compete on August 17. They are the last two Moldovans at the championship.
