Info-Prim Neo learned that the association of Chisinau residents “Casa noastra – Chisinau” (“Our home- Chisinau) will participate in local elections, being supported by an uncompromised party that never participate in elections before, Chairman of the Association Oleg Onishcenko told a news conference.
According to Onishcenko, in two and a half years of activity, the members of the organisation faced a series of obstacles created by authorities, including when they ignored the tens of projects proposed by the association for the improvement of the living standards of Chisinau residents. The numerous inspections by central and local authorities determined the leadership of the association to go into politics.
The cited source says that the association feels capable of proposing and promoting projects which will improve the life of the next generations. “We can say for sure that the present government is not interested in a dialogue with the society and does not want to solve the problems of the common citizens”, the chairman of the association said.
The Administration Board of the Association decided on Tuesday, March 20 that the Association will participate in local elections, by fielding candidates in the Chisinau Municipal Council, where Onishcenko says that the Association “Casa noastra – Chisinau” will be able to promote its reforming ideas and projects.
According to Onishcenko, due to fact that “Casa noastra – Chisinau” is an NGO it searches partners to engage in the electoral campaign and to run for the councillor offices. The leader of the association says that the collaboration will be accepted with any party which is not compromised and grounds on the principles of patriotism. He says that the association did not find yet a political force to support in elections but he did not exclude that he will run for the office of general mayor.
