The head of the republican public association “Consumer Protection” Piotr Gutul calls upon the electors not to vote for the Democratic Party’s candidate Marian Lupu in the upcoming presidential elections. According to him, the association repeatedly asked the Democratic MP to help solve the problems faced by consumers, but the politician did nothing.
In a news conference at IPN, Piotr Gutul said the members of the association meet with difficulties in solving cases of violation of consumer rights. The association made multiple approaches to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Chisinau Prosecutor’s Office, complaining about the violation of consumers’ rights, but received no answer. The complaints made in court are also useless as they are not accepted.
The head of the NGO noted that he decided to seek help from MP Marian Lupu because he is the leader of a ruling party, but this didn’t react. “I followed very attentively Marian Lupu’s work and not only once made approaches to him related to the protection of consumers’ rights, but Marian Ilici didn’t react. I think he tries to mislead the people. Those who want to vote for him as President should no way do it,” stated Piotr Gutul.
He also said that they forwarded complaints from people about the water, power and heat supply and about the purchased domestic appliances. A petition refers to the allotment of a plot of land on Sarmizegetusa St by the municipality of Chisinau on which to erect a building. It’s not clear who this plot was allotted to and in what conditions. In this connection, the association complained about abuse of power by the mayor of Chisinau to the law enforcement agencies, but this issue also remained unsolved.
Association member Tatiana Gogu told the same news conference that the rulers try to create impediments in the work of the NGO so that the people could not file complains when their rights are violated.
