Asphalting of streets in Chisinau expected to start this week

The stopping up of the streets is a temporary solution and the asphalting is set to start this week, the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceslav Tarna said. “If the weather permits, we will start covering the seriously damaged streets with asphalt. Until present, we stopped the streets up in order to avoid accidents in the city,” Veaceslav Tarna said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. In a statement, the Public Transport and Communications Division says the stopping up works will continue this week on the streets Sprancenoaia, Coca, Vasile Lupu, Ion Neculce, Petru Rares, Ierusalimului, Miron Costin, Mihai Sadoveanu, Calea Basarabiei, Hancesti and on the road that goes to Tohatin village. More and more drivers express their dissatisfaction with the condition of the roads. “I see no difference in the streets now and before they were stopped up. The motor vehicles continue to break as the authorities of the city do not do their jobs,” said an infuriated driver. Another driver considers the stopping up of the streets is only a waste of money. “The Chisinau administration does not repair the streets, but launder money. The streets remained as they were before being asphalted,” he said. However, there are drivers who say the local authorities did a good job at a time when the budget is so small.
