The Party of Communists (PCRM) does not take part in governance and didn’t form a coalition with the Liberal Democratic Party and the Democratic Party as it is in responsible opposition, Communist MP Artur Reshetnikov said in the program “Public eye” on Noroc TV channel, IPN reports.
The lawmaker noted they want to hold particular control posts. “We didn’t want to transform the process of voting in the Government into trade and didn’t want posts. But I think the opposition should hold certain control posts like that of president of the Audit Office, so as to check the efficiency of government,” said the heavyweight of the PCRM.
He also said that the PCRM voted for the Gaburici Government with reserve. “But, if we hadn’t voted, we would have had early elections which would have been a catastrophe for the country given the current economic and financial crisis. We demanded that Vlad Filat, Iurie Leanca, Marian Lupu and Vlad Plahotniuc should not be fielded for executive posts. In continuation we will make effort to find common discussion platforms with the partners from Parliament so as to remedy the situation. We voted for the Government, but will strictly control its work from parliamentary level,” stated Artur Reshetnikov.
As to the Association Agreement with the EU, the MP said the PCRM will insist on the revision of some of its provisions in Moldova’s favor. “At our insistence, certain changes were already made, such as the increase in the export quota on Moldovan apples to the EU,” he stated.
