The Spanish city of Pontevedra is hosting the Wrestling Junior European Championships. Two Moldovan wrestlers secured a place on the winner’s rostrum in Greco-Roman wrestling, IPN reports.
Artium Deleanu won bronze in the 55 kg weight class. He scored three victories, being beaten in the quarterfinals by the future finalist Anvar Allakhiarov of Russia. In the match for the bronze medal, Artium defeated Aser Ebro Rodriguez of Spain.
In the 72 kg class, Mihai Petic qualified for the final after winning against Croatia’s Pavel Puklavec, Israel’s Radik Rakhmatulin and Ihor Bychkov of Ukraine. In the final, Mihai Petic plays Armenia’s Malkhas Amoyan.
