Artist Timotei Batranu feels poem of painting and renders color of poetry

Plastic artist Timotei Batranu staged a personal exhibition themed “Eolian States” at the National Museum of Arts in Chisinau and launched the fifth booklet of verses titled “Eoliane”, Info-Prim Neo reports. The jubilee exhibition of Timotei Batranu includes about 70 paintings and graphic works from his personal collection on various themes, but nature in abstraction is the dominant subject. During many years, the artist made works centering on different themes, but now, at 65 years, he puts emphasis more on modernism and postmodernism."My earlier works were more specific, special. Now I focus on modernism and postmodernism as I was impressed by these styles in the foreign countries that I visited. I also present the poetry book “Eoliane”. I wanted to print it long ago and named it so because my works are penetrated by a cold, cool and warm breeze.” According to the vice director of the National Museum of Arts Svetlana Pociumban, the artist displayed the outcome of his work. The oldest exhibit dates from 2005. In a very short period of time, he has made over 70 works. “Timotei Batranu is a very generous man. He donated a large number of paintings to kindergartens and chidlren's homes. He is talented in everything.” “I'm very glad that so many people came to see these beautiful works. I'm glad that our culture has such personalities as Timotei Batranu. I was impressed by his young soul and the colors that express his optimism. It is wonderful to see the colors alternating on his canvases,” said Ninela Caranfil, actress of the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu”. Ghenadie Jalba, the president of the Union of Plastic Artists, said that the landscape is the starting point in most of Timotei Batranu's works. “He paints nature and changes it as he feels. One of his characteristic features is that he merges the colors to create an impressive scale, revealing his lyric nature. Timotei Batranu has produced a large number of paintings. At this exhibition, he came with experience and a well-defined message.” The painter's relatives and friends prepared a surprise for him. They invited small children from the folk group “Opincuta” of the Chisinau kindergarten “Clopotel” to dance and sing for the protagonist. Timotei Batranu made his debut in 1971 with the painting “Spring”. Now he has over 200 works. He is the author of the highest icon in Moldova. “The Savior Ruling” is over 1.70 meters high and replaced the altar in the church in his native village Balauresti.
