The Association of Independent Press (API) awarded prizes to the winners of its internal contest held in 2012. Winners were selected in the following categories: the bets reporter, the best journalistic investigation, the best photograph, the best website, the best manager of the year, and the publication with the best design, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué from the Association, Svetlanei Panta of “Jurnal de Chisinau” was named the best reporter. In the same category, prizes were offered to Svetlana Coropceanu of “Jurnal de Chisinau” and Marina Morozova of “SP”.
Victor Mosneag of “Ziarul de Garda” was awarded for the best journalistic investigation, especially for the investigation “Condemned to freeform”. Among the awardees were also Ruslan Mihalevschi of “SP” (Balti) and Tudor Yashchenko of “Cuvantul”(Rezina).
The top prize for the best picture was given to Ina Landade of “Expresul” (Ungheni), for the photo-report “On duty”. The photo shows how firefighters intervene promptly to deal with a fire. Prizes were also conferred on Nicolae Cushkevich of “Ziarul de Garda” and Tatiana Mitrofan of “Observatorul de Nord” (Soroca).
The newspaper “Expresul” was awarded for the best website. The other two awardees are the papers “SP” and “Ziarul de Garda”.
The paper “SP” received the top prize for the best design. “Ziarul de Garda” and “Jurnal de Chsinau” were also awarded in this category.
Two prizes were handed over to the best managers of the year: Nicolae Sanduleac, director of the paper “Unghiul”, and Tudor Yashchenko, director of “Cuvantul”.
The regional paper “Cuvantul” became the winner in the category “Best action with social impact”. It was awarded for the contests: “Young talents”, “Most active mayor and local council”, and “Education of civilian activism by underlining, promoting and stimulating civic initiatives”.
The API contest was held for the 12th consecutive year. It is an internal competition of the media outlets that form part of the Association. The award ceremony was held within the annual General Assembly of the API Members. The winners received diplomas and valuable prizes.
