The antigovernment protests are logical and indispensable because almost none of the preconditions that led to the protests of 2015-2016 has changed, said experts invited to the talk show “Expertise hour” on Jurnal TV channel, IPN reports.

Political analyst Alexei Tulbure said there are a lot of arguments to take to the streets as no mechanism works in the country. “The Government has very low legitimacy as it was voted in and inaugurated by a majority that was created by blackmail and corruption, of political tourists, by splitting parliamentary groups. Everything remained,” he stated.

Transparency International Moldova president Lilia Carasciuc considers civil society and the anti-oligarchic political parties should combine forces and protest for the same cause – against the law to introduce the mixed-member electoral system. “The Party of Socialists could mount such protests, but it is time for it to state its position. Regrettably, this party stayed aside and this discouraged us a lot because Igor Dodon said he is anti-oligarchic and will fight corruption, but he hasn’t yet detached himself from the PSRM,” said Lilia Carasciuc.

On the other hand, Socialist MP Grigore Novac said that no matter who joins the protest of the Socialists, they will take to the streets on September 24 and will apply their own program.

The opposition extraparliamentary parties called on the people who are dissatisfied with the state of affairs in the country to take part in a people’s protest that will be staged on September 17. At the same time, the PSRM and President Igor Dodon announced that they will mount an antigovernment protest on September 24.
