Maia Sandu has convened the Supreme Security Council (CSS) to discuss the liquidation of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office (PA) and the Prosecutor's Office for the Fight against Organized Crime and Special Cases (PCCOCS) and their replacement by a single institution, IPN reports, with reference to Ziarul de Garda.
According to the cited source, the CSS members met in a meeting at 13:00 and discussed the subject of liquidation of specialized prosecutor's offices. The information was confirmed by the head of state's spokesman Igor Zaharov.
"The members of the CSS may discuss the liquidation of the PA and PCCOCS. Instead of the two prosecutor's offices, they are discussing the creation of a new institution," the Guardian newspaper reports.
PCCOCS has been active since 2016, and PA - since 2003.
On January 14, Maia Sandu convened the CSS on the energy crisis.
