The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office has issued a message of appreciation for Veronica Dragalin, highlighting that under her leadership, the institution demonstrated a consistent commitment to defending the rule of law and ensuring a fair and transparent judicial system.

"On behalf of the entire team at the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, we sincerely thank Ms. Veronica Dragalin for her dedication and professionalism in leading this institution. It has been an honor to work alongside a professional who has led the fight against corruption with integrity and determination," the statement, cited by IPN, reads.

The institution emphasized that although Veronica Dragalin's mandate has ended, the team remains determined to continue the work she started, ensuring that the efforts made so far are not in vain.

Veronica Dragalin also shared a message, stating that she had the honor of leading a team of dedicated professionals in the fight against corruption—a mission she took on with determination and integrity.

"Unfortunately, this chapter is ending in a way I did not foresee—highlighting the deep challenges that still stand in the way of true justice and the rule of law in Moldova," said the former head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office.

She added that, although she is leaving this position with a heavy heart, she remains firmly convinced that Moldova deserves a future free of corruption, where public institutions serve the people, not political interests. "My commitment to this cause does not end here," Dragalin concluded.

Veronica Dragalin submitted her resignation, stating that she wanted to prevent the dissolution of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases. The Superior Council of Prosecutors (CSP) appointed Marcel Dumbravan as interim director today.
