Anti-corruption Alliance is concerned about the lack of transparency in the case of the Chisinau Municipal Council’s decision on the reorganisation via alienation of the municipal stations “Antena C” and “Euro TV Chisinau”, a statement of the Alliance says, cited by Info-Prim Neo. The experts of the Alliance are currently analysing the decision on the reorganisation of the two media institutions, and will pronounce in short time upon its legality. The Anticorruption Alliance would like to warn about the risk that such practices could become common occurrences in the activity of local public administration institutions. It believes that that efforts should be made in order that natural climate of dialogue with the society is re-established. Moreover, the authorities should take into account the respect for their own obligations for the civil society and the society as a whole, especially concerning ensuring a transparent framework of decision making. On November 30, the Municipal Council decided upon the reorganisation via alienation of the two institutions; on December 14, CMC came up with the decision to announce an investment contest to sell “Euro TV” and “Antena C”, dismissed the two directors, and appointed others. The civil society, political parties, and the staffs of the 2 stations claim that the respective decisions are illegal, and that they are approved by political command. Diplomatic missions and international organizations released a joint statement expressing their concern about the way in which the reorganisation is operated.
