The administration of the “Antena C” municipal radio station proposes to create a commercial society, formed by the members of the institution’s staff, in order to bring the station’s statute in conformity with the legislation in force. The document provides that the Municipal Enterprise “Antena C” radio station is to be liquidated on January 1, 2007. Before that moment a liquidation commission will be created. According to the document, municipal goods remaining after satisfying creditors’ justified pretensions are to be transmitted for use to the commercial society created by the members of the station’s staff. The term of the use is to be established by the Municipal Council, with the condition of signing a collaboration agreement between the parts, providing assuming obligations to program consumers from the municipality. The new Audiovisual Code, in force since August 18 this year, doesn’t provide the activity of local public broadcasters. Municipal authorities were to prepare a decision for reorganizing “Antena C” and “Euro TV Chisinau” stations till November 18. Chisinau Municipal Council didn’t adopt yet a decision in this sense, this issue being included in the agenda of the session which will continue on November 30. The decisions drafts provide for auctioning off of the 2 stations. Pavel Caba, leader of the “Moldova Noastra” faction in CMC, told IPN reporter that that his faction pleads for the privatization of 2 institutions but only with the participation of the staff. In an interview offered to the “Timpul de dimineata” newspaper on Tuesday, interim mayor Vasile Ursu declared that the Municipality of Chisinau needs public TV and radio stations.
