Several defenders of animal rights claim that they want a future mayor of Chisinau municipality that would address the problem of stray animals. They unanimously declare that Ion Ceban is that person, calling on the inhabitants of the city to go to the polls and support the Socialist candidate.

At an IPN press conference, Irina Iacovenco, head of "Jiva" society for the protection of animal rights, has said she trusts Ion Ceban and believes that he will be able to establish the "order that has not existed in the city for 25 years." According to Irina Iacovenco, the situation of stray animals is critical and a reform is needed.

Mihail Golovin, deputy director of the Sterilization Center in Chisinau, says there is a need in the municipal administration for a person who is ready to listen to the promoters of animal rights, a trustworthy person, such as Ion Ceban.

Cynologist Constantin Ciuperca states that, besides the problems of stray animals, there is also a lack of infrastructure for pets. "Analyzing Ion Ceban's election campaign, I am sure he is a man who cares about this city and will be able to solve the problems of both sides," said Constantin Ciuperca.

Sabrina Amaia, a volunteer, argues that a compulsory program "to teach a humane attitude towards animals" must be introduced in schools. The young woman says that on daily basis she witnesses the inhumane attitude towards animals, especially on the part children, who "do not know how to behave with animals".

Tatiana Cococenco, a volunteer, says stray animals can be involved in social projects. The woman specifies that "animals can be involved in different therapies for people who have health problems." But these projects must be implemented with the support of the authorities.
