Pro Moldova leader Andrian Candu described what happened today in Parliament as an absurd comedy and disrespect for the country. “Now that decisions to attenuate at least the pandemic crisis could have been taken and solutions to the economic or social problems could have been discussed, the political games and interests of some prevailed,” Andrian Candu stated in a press briefing after the vote on the Grosu Government could not be held owing to the lack of a quorum, IPN reports.

The MP noted the Socialists play their game, while the PAS and President Maia Sandu mimic governance. “A mobilization of the political class for overcoming the social and economic crisis was now needed, but these two camps play a political game in the own interests. This is genocide against the country,” stated the MP.

He presumes that the MPs agreed to leave the assembly hall so that the second attempt to vote in the Government could be classed as failed. “This is a game between two camps that generates suffering to the people. We are extremely indignant at such a behavior and lack of responsibility. Dear citizens, remember how and who plays with your lives,” stated the leader of Pro Moldova.

A lack of quorum was ascertained in Parliament after the MPs of the Party of Socialists and the For Moldova platform, which includes the MPs of the Shor Party, left the assembly hall. They said they do not want to take part in the examination of the government program and the Cabinet proposed by candidate for Prime Minister Igor Grosu. Speaker Zinaida Grechanyi said the subject concerning the voting in of the Grosu Government is considered dealt with. This is the second attempt to vote in the Government. Under the law, after it Parliament is dissolved and snap parliamentary elections are called.
