The administration of the Government and Parliament will not take part in the meeting of the Supreme Security Council that was convened for August 29, Speaker Andrian Candu announced after the meeting of the Democratic Party’s Standing Bureau. He told the journalists that the representatives of the power will be absent from the meeting because the agenda includes issues that are not within the competence of the Council and of the President, IPN reports.

The Moldovan Government’s decision to declare the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Rogozin persona non grata is such a subject. “The inclusion of such a subject in the agenda is a challenge and an attempt to politicize an exhausted subject. We do not want the Security Council to become an element of geopolitical confrontation,” stated Andrian Candu.

He noted that the absence from the Council’s meeting does not represent boycott and the administration of the Government and Parliament will take part in the meetings that will center on issues that really concern state security.
