Dorin Recean is a very good Prime Minister and he will further fulfill his duties as head of the Cabinet, said Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Andrei Spînu. The statements were made after a number of politicians alleged that Premier Recean could resign and a Cabinet led by Andrei Spînu could be formed. The minister noted that he teams up well with the current Premier and the Cabinet’s duty is to deliver the results promised to the people, IPN reports.

Andrei Spînu said that he returned to the Cabinet at the invention of Prime Minister Dorin Recean and he accepted the proposal because he has the experience needed to manage the areas of infrastructure and regional development. He earlier launched projects that are now being completed and ensure the country’s development.

“The discussion about my return to the Cabinet wasn’t very long. The Premier put forward this proposal in a discussion at the party and I accepted it because I had experience with infrastructure, road projects and I think these projects developed better than ever. We see roads being launched practically each week. I returned to the Cabinet to do my job in all the areas that are my responsibility,” Andrei Spînu stated in the program “Secrets of the Power” on JurnalTV channel.

He denied the rumors about Premier Recean’s eventual resignation after the local general elections of this autumn, saying that he does not aspire to the post of Prime Minister for now.

“There are a lot of rumors. We team up well with Prime Minister Dorin Recean. I think Dorin is a very good Prime Minister. In the recent past, we have already seen results, including in the field of state security. This is what matters. All those rumors are not true. We have a very clear objective – first of all, as a party, to win these elections and to make sure that the Cabinet delivers the results expected by the people. Premier Recean doesn’t leave and I don’t see why he should leave. I aim to fulfill my duties as part of my mandate that is a very ambitious one. We set very big goals and in the immediate period will deliver results in these sectors,” noted the minister.

The Cabinet led by Dorin Recean was invested on February 16, 2023. On July 17, Andrei Spînu returned to the Cabinet, taking over the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development after leaving the Executive together with the resignation of the Gavriliția Cabinet.
