The Chairman of Dignity and Truth Platform Party (PPDA) and the current Minister of Internal Affairs, Andrei Năstase, says that ACUM bloc will stand united in the local elections in Chisinau, as for the other settlements in the Republic of Moldova. In addition, the party is determined to win again the mayor's seat, as it happened in the local elections of 2018. Andrei Năstase did not directly say that he would be the candidate proposed by ACUM bloc, but said that "it is clear who will be put forward by the party”. The statements were made on the set of the "Fourth Power" show on N4, IPN reports.
"We simply do not have the right to lose these elections, and in order to win them, we must be united, we must attract all the European democratic forces around us so that the socialists have no chance of winning the elections", said Andrei Nastase.
According to him, it will be a big problem if the capital’s mayoralty is won by the Socialists. "If the Socialists win, this republic has no future. If the socialists win the capital too, the Republic of Moldova is doomed to failure. That is why everyone must understand that the October 20 elections are vital for the capital and for the Republic of Moldova,” says the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Andrei Năstase says that ACUM bloc needs to ensure that in the future it will no longer depend on haphazard, situational majorities. "We must show the voters that we are the best, that we are the ones who will place the Republic of Moldova among the civilized states, with a functional economy, with a rule of law, with people coming home. These are the realities. It is very important to call things by their own name, "said the PPDA chairman.
Local elections will be held on October 20.
