“Those who came now to power are populists and work on Igor Dodon’s campaign prior to the presidential elections will be done in the course of this year while the current Government will manage the affairs,” the leader of the Party “Platform Dignity and Truth” Andrei Năstase stated in a video interview given to IPN News Agency. He noted that the process of coming closer to the European Union will be increasingly mimicked in the period.
According to the politician, there is a lot of populism and opportunism in the Government’s work and there is nothing technocratic in it. “These are controllable people and they are controlled by Igor Dodon, who believes that he knows everything and will manage to do what he plans. I’m sure the coming period will show that Igor Dodon is actually a circus artist who does nothing but accumulate capital for the next elections, the next term in office as President.”
Andrei Năstase noted that many investors have doubts about their coming to Moldova and this is bad for the country. “For the foreign investment to come, fair justice is needed and the investments of these people should be secured. As Dodon’s Government brought the reforms in the justice sector, the prosecution service to a halt, the people will surely stop at the Prut or in other economic zones,” he stated.
At the same time, the politician said he does not want to criticize the Government now as he will wait to see what results it will achieve, including in the energy sector, if Ukraine and Russia do not reach an agreement.
As to the Association Agreement with the EU, the PPPDA leader said this accord offers a lot of opportunities and the possibility of having a better life inside the country, but the process of coming closer to the EU will be increasingly mimicked by the current Government. “It is definitely involution and dallying of such important processes for our country,” he said, noting the implementation of the Association Agreement can help create better conditions and ensure better justice at home for the Moldovans who went to live and work abroad to wish to return home.
