The co-president of the Bloc ACUM Andrei Năstase, president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, said there was no need for President Igor Dodon to go to the Constitutional Court (CC) to clarify if he can propose a candidate for Prime Minister or not. He noted the fundamental law is sufficiently explicit on the issue and such an approach wasn’t needed. The issue was developed in the talk show “Black box” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

According to the politician, the Constitution specifies that the President nominates a candidate for premiership after consulting the parliamentary groups. “Who was Mister Dodon elected President for? For himself, for his family, for his political and no only political group. Or he was elected President to save this society?” wondered Andrei Năstase.

He noted that Igor Dodon went to the CC because the president of the Democratic Party Vlad Plahotniuc requested him to do this.

As to the continuation of the discussions between the Bloc ACUM and the Party of Socialists, Andrei Năstase said there is yet place for cooperation. “We need someone to persuade those from the PSRM,” stated the politician.

Andrei Năstase said the rhetoric of the Bloc ACUM was very sincere in relation to the Socialists. “While we are looking for solutions to make the Parliament functional so as to adopt laws that refer to the social sphere, the economy, they look for pretexts,” he noted.
