"I thank all those who decided to vote today, whether they are residents of Chișinău and the suburbs of the capital or members of our regional communities. I thank all of them, because this is how democracy is done, this is how democracy is built - through involvement and participation". This message was issued by the Electoral Bloc ACUM candidate for the position of mayor of the capital, Andrei Năstase, in a press conference held after 21:00.
"Especially, I want to thank those who came out to vote in the municipality of Chișinău for the mayor of all the inhabitants of Chișinău and of the suburbs", said the mayoral hopeful.
Andrei Nastase declined to comment on the results of the exit poll, replying that he will comment after the official results are announced. He added that he is waiting for the results obtained by each candidate and that he will issue statements afterwards.
The mayoral hopeful said that he had a lot of work today, namely he talked to people and urged them to vote, while "respecting the rigors of the law and not campaigning".
Andrei Năstase added that together with the ACUM bloc's co-chair, Maia Sandu, they will issue statements after the results of the election are made available.
