The president of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” (PPPDA) Andrei Năstase said that he didn’t abandon the thought of unity, consolidation of all the forces of the good and strengthening of the ranks against those who are foreign to the interests of this nation and state. He noted he is a man who assumes failures or mistakes if he makes some, but never accepts responsibility for what someone tries to make his responsibility, no matter who this is.

In a video interview for IPN News Agency, the leader of the PPPDA said that during the almost 30 years since the declaring of Independence, which is a rather long period, the people’s expectations were very big and ups and downs were witnessed in the meantime. However, everyone should think about their duty to contribute to the survival of this state. In 2015, he and a group of people created the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” to exert pressure on the then government so that this returned to normality, pursued the European integration course, did reforms and ensured welfare.

“This appeared when absolutely no one dared to oppose and struggle against a consolidated oligarchic regime that then had of a number of closely interwoven components. With a small group of audacious persons, we decided that we could not go on like that,” stated Andrei Năstase. “I believed, as the citizens of this state, that we are responsible for not allowing things to degenerate and should not take the bag and go abroad, even if each of us was self-sufficient in that period and could find a place here, at home, or abroad.”

He underlined that as the leader of the PPPDA, he assumed responsibility and for four years has permanently pleaded for the unification of what is good in this country. He was tolerant and even open towards those who didn’t deserve and was hopeful that these would change. But it happened otherwise. “I never gave up thinking about unity, consolidation of all the forces of the good and strengthening of the ranks against those who are foreign to the interests of this nation, this state and society,” noted the politician.

According to him, the people are those who will judge him and he will do his best for this judgment to be based on the party’s deeds, not on what others say. There are unachieved things that he assumes, but will not tolerate propaganda, manipulation and injustice.

The interview “PPPDA president Andrei Năstase’s vision of the state of affairs in Moldovan society at the intersection of years” forms part of the series “Crossroads of years through the angle of the ideal of living well at home” that will involve President Igor Dodon and Prime Minister Ion Chicu and the leaders of the main parliamentary parties Pavel Filip and Maia Sandu.
