Andrei Năstase: If I do not fulfill five commitments during a year, I will quit

The candidate for President of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase presented the five promises that he pledges to fulfill during the first year of his term in office if he is elected President. If he does not manage to, he will quit, IPN reports.

In a news conference, the candidate said the first commitment is to introduce the minimum guaranteed income for each citizen by amending Article 47 of the Constitution. This way, pensions lower than 2,500 lei should not exist. Another commitment is to make the punishments for corruption and stealing of public funds harsher, with jail terms of up to 25 years and removal of corrupt prospectors and judges from the system.

Andrei Năstase also pledged to conclude a national pact for education and to finance the education sector with at least 7% of the GDP during at least ten years. The candidate intends to make a similar pact for health and to also ensure at least 7% of the GDP for healthcare for a period of at least ten years.

The fifth promise made by the candidate is to set up a control commission that would monitor, control and set the highest prices of the products and services that form part of the monthly consumer basket of a person.

“Dear citizens of the Republic of Moldova, these five commitments, alongside other promises formulated in my country project, will be fulfilled during the first year of my term in office. They will be fully implemented and there will be no context, pretext, reason or excuse if I do not put these commitments into practice,” stated Andrei Năstase.
