The omissions of the court of law in the local electoral process in Chisinau generate suspicions, considers jurist Pavel Midrigan. In the talk show “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, the jurist said the court overlooked the participation by foreigners for the purpose of electoral agitation in favor of the PPPDA candidate Andrei Nastase, IPN reports.

Pavel Midrigan said the way in which the citizens perceive the electoral process is important. The judiciary process concerning the electoral process involved two moments: electoral agitation and participation by foreign citizens in the election campaign of a candidate. “The same court of law ascertained the electoral agitation of Andrei Nastase on the day before the election day, but didn’t pronounce on the second aspect. It is important to treat one subject from beginning till the end, in accordance with the law. These omissions generate particular suspicions as to possible influence exerted on the process,” stated the jurist.

Expert in international law Vitalie Catana said mayor-elect Andrei Nastase could have intentionally broken the legislation because such a situation suits him more from political viewpoint than serving as a mayor. Andrei Nastase, who is a jurist by profession, definitely knew that he violates the law by campaigning.
