Anatolie Postolachi fielded by PLDM for MP in Hâncești elections

Anatolie Postolachi is the candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova (PLDM) in the new parliamentary elections that will be held in single-member constituency No. 38 Hâncești on March 15 this year. A decision to this effect was adopted unanimously at the meeting of the party’s Central Standing Bureau, IPN reports.

In a press release, the party says that Anatolie Postolachi was born in Buțeni village of Hâncești district. He is 47 and is a jurist by profession. He served as the mayor of Buțeni in 1999-2007, deputy head of Hâncești district in 2007-2009, head of the Hâncești local office of the State Chancellery and the Government’s representative at the local level in 2009-2013.

The PLDM didn’t say when Anatolie Postolachi will submit the documents for registering the initiative group that will collect signatures in support of him, but the deadline is January 24.

Today, January 23, the Action and Solidarity Party filed the required documents for having the initiative group for collecting signatures in support of candidate Olesea Stamate registered. On January 22, the president of the Liberal Party Dorin Chirtoacă announced his intention to run for MP on behalf of the Union Political Movement.

Six parties have announced their candidates for MP in Hâncești so far. Vitalie Balinschi was nominated by the Shor Party, Ștefan Gaţcan by the Party of Socialists, Ion Mereuță by the Democratic Party, Vlad Țurcanu by the National Unity Party, Olesea Stamate by the Action and Solidarity Party, and Mihai Druță by the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform”, with the latter not being yet officially designated.

The CEC set new parliamentary elections in Hâncești for March 15 after Democratic MP Alexandru Botnari renounced the seat won in this constituency in favor of the post of mayor of the municipality of Hâncești in the November 3 runoffs.
