Anastasia Nichita has had a superb performance at the World Youth Wrestling Championship that is taking place in Finland’s Tampere. She qualified for the final of the 59 kg class after winning three victories, IPN reports.
In the 1/8 finals, Nichita won against China’s Jing Jiang 8-6, while in the quarterfinals defeated Nabira Esenbaeva of Uzbekistan 10-0. She then beat Norway’s Grace Jacob Bullen, who defeated her two months ago in the final of the European Youth Wrestling Championship. Anastasia took revenge and beat her 7-4.
In the final, the athlete trained by Tudor Carlan meets Japan’s Yuzuru Kumano.
