The deputy chair of the Șor Political Party, MP Marina Tauber, claims that "the parliamentary majority continues to put pressure and make attempts to destroy the opposition party - the Șor Party". The parliamentarian also says that "the authorities, through the courts, are trying to exclude from the electoral race the party candidate for the position of mayor of Jora de Mijloc commune, Serghei Labliuc," IPN reports.
In a press briefing, Marina Tauber addressed the representatives of the judicial system with the urge "not to ruin the lives of innocent people through political struggles and not to ruin the fate of more than four thousand people living in the commune". According to her, the Șor Party has shown that people can live better and many of the locals have returned from abroad. The politician also said that on October 20, people would decide the fate of the entire country and each settlement in particular.
Serghei Labliuc stated that he received late the decision regarding his registration as an electoral contender and was accused that, although being relieved of the duties of Jora de Mijloc mayor, he signed several decisions and exerted pressure on the electorate. The party representative has denied the accusations, specifying that he has evidence in this regard, including witness statements. According to him, all his arguments were ignored by the first instance court, which decided to exclude him from the race. The decision was contested in the court of appeal.
