The Chisinau City Hall has turned down an application of the Alliance Our Moldova (AMN) for authorisation of a protest meeting in front of the parliament on April 4, but the party will organise the meeting anyway, first deputy chairman of AMN Veaceslav Untila told the parliament on Thursday. Untila said that AMN wants to picket the Moldovan parliament on April 4, on the first anniversary of the red-orange governance. Meeting the necessary rules, AMN has submitted a preliminary declaration to the Chisinau City Hall, seeking the notification of this institution, though the international legislation in effect does not oblige organisers of pickets to demand the permit of local bodies to hold protests. They shall only notify the competent bodies about scheduled manifestation, he added. However, Untila continued, the Chisinau City Hall did not authorise the April 4-scheduled picket of the parliament, invoking the official visit of a foreign delegation. „It did not allow us to hold a peaceful meeting as if it would be a social danger,” Untila added. „Although it has banned us to picket the parliament, we assure you that AMN will organise the protests. Nobody should believe that we have given up protests,” Untila addedю
