A lawmaker representing the Our Moldova Alliance (AMN), Anatol Onceanu, has sent two interpellations to the Moldovan president. The first of them asks the chief of state to indicate the legal basis that the president invokes when he gets involved in direction of legislative, executive and judiciary power. The second interpellation asks President Voronin to make public its stance towards the statements of his Romanian counterpart Traian Basescu regarding the common European perspectives of Moldova and Romania. According to the first interpellation, Onceanu says that sittings with the participation of the administration of parliament, executive, legal bodies, local public administration, and others represent one of main methods of work of the chief of state. The sittings examine the situation in different areas minutely, make appreciations, give instructions, indicate tasks with concrete control terms, and launch initiatives and commitments of public importance without any decisions of responsible institutions of the state. These actions are similar to the permanent sittings of Russian President Vladimir Putin, but the Russian Federation has a presidential governing system in which the chief of state enjoys legal competences in this regard, Onceanu noted. The Moldovan Constitution and other legislative documents do not allow the president to get directly involved in the activity of state institutions. The lawmaker asks the president to explain what legal coverage, concrete constitutional and legislative provisions he invokes when he gets directly involved in direction of legislative, executive and juridical powers. As regards the second interpellation, Onceanu asks the president to comment publicly on statements of Romanian President Traian Basescu regarding the nature and perspective of relations with Moldova and Bucharest’s support for the European integration of Moldova.
