The “Moldova Noastra” Alliance (AMN) Party pleads for the reestablishment of the democratic coalition in the Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC), the party’s president, Serafim Urecheanu, said in a declaration issued on Tuesday, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We are opting for preserving the coalition, because we have to meet the expectations of Chisinau residents, solve the problems of the city and prove that the democratic forces are able to cooperate ahead of the parliamentary elections”, the declaration says. According to Serafim Urecheanu, the crisis in the municipal administration, as well as in some districts was caused by the destructive actions of President Vladimir Voronin and his entourage, who are pursuing some political and economic interests. If the scenario of the destabilization of the situation in Chisinau is carried on, the Municipal Council will witness the consolidation of a president-ruled majority, which will be hostile to the general mayor and will generate a continuous blockage in the capital’s administration process, the declaration adds. In order to avoid this danger, AMN advises Mihai Ghimpu and Eduard Musuc to renounce their ambitions with regard to the CMC chairman’s seat. AMN proposes the democratic coalition should be summoned in order to outline the priorities of the CMC and maybe elect a new chairman. The Liberal Party faction in the CMC announced today that was moving to opposition. Eduard Musuc was elected chairman of CMC on June 6 with the support of PCRM, PPCD, PSD, PCUM and “Ravnopravie”. The same councilors voted for the dismissal of Mihai Ghimpu. On June 20, the CMC secretary signed the two decisions, enacting them.
