“Moldova Noastra” Alliance (AMN) insists that Moldova officially applies for the European Union membership. A statement in this respect was signed by the party’s leader Serafim Urecheanu, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the statement, AMN considers as compulsory to bring to good account the pro-European consensus in the Parliament, the experience of cooperation with European organisations and EU new members, as well as the limited time, so as to obtain Moldova’s inclusion in the group of the countries regarded by EU as potential candidates for accession.
This conclusion has been drawn on the basis of the desire of most Moldovan citizens, who plead for joining the EU, thanks to Moldova’s aspiration for a distinct treatment, compared with the other participants in the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), based on its historical origin and geopolitical situation.
AMN says that effective process in political, economic, administrative, social and cultural development can be made by Moldova only by connecting it to the mechanisms assisted by EU, as those within the Instruments for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA). The document’s authors think that now Moldova has its own experience to directly tackle the objective of Moldova’s European integration. Its experience results from implementation of the EU-Moldova Action Plan. Moldova has also access to the recourses accumulated by Romania in the accession process.
At the same time, AMN is concerned about the suspension of the EU enlargement and considers as discouraging the absence of Moldova among the potential candidates – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia and Kosovo (under the Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council).
