The members of the American Trade Chamber in Moldova show availability to contribute to the realization of the Government's program. Such a statement was launched on Friday by the president of the NGO, John Maxemchuk, at the meeting with premier Zinaida Greceanai, Info-Prim Neo quotes the press unit of the Government. John Maxemchuk has said the new initiatives of the AmCham are meant to improve the business environment in Moldova, characterized now by high costs of financing businesses. According to him, the local companies are disadvantaged compared with the foreign ones which have access to financing in more favorable conditions. John Maxemchuk has opined that Moldova's position, evaluated by the international rating agencies, does not mirror the reality and should be improved. The American expert considers another obstacle for the business environment to be the scarcity of qualified labor. The AmCham is developing a research on the issue and says it will shares the data with the Moldovan Government. John Maxemchuk says the members of the NGO have experience in developing programs for Moldova, as elements in the Threshold Country Program of the Millennium Challenge Corporation, financed by the US Government and the active participation in the UN's Global Impact. At the same time, the AmCham in Moldova is involved in computerizing households.
