Moldova’s Ambassador to the Russian Federation Vladimir Golovatiuc was recalled. A draft decision to this effect was approved in the first sitting of the Cabinet on August 9, IPN reports.

The decision was taken after the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration invited the diplomat to come back to Chinua for an indefinite period of time so as to clarify the method of managing the diplomatic mission and aspects of his behavior.

The Ministry reacted after the press reported that Vladimir Golovatiuc sexually harassed a female employee of the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow.

Vladimir Golovatiuc was named Ambassador to the Russian Federation last December. His predecessor Andrei Neguţa was removed after anabolic steroids were found in a diplomatic vehicle on a service mission on the Moscow – Chisinau – Moscow road.
