Moldova’s Ambassador in Russia Andrei Neguta may be recalled because he is loyal to the former ruling party, not the state interests, Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said in the “Politics Live” program on the national television channel Moldova 1, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The recalling of Andrei Neguta will be discussed within the Alliance for European Integration. Mihai Ghimpu expressed his indignation at the fact that the ambassadors who safeguarded the interests of the Communists Party (PCRM) have not been yet called back by the Foreign Ministry, though the leaders of the governing alliance agreed this will be done.
According to Mihai Ghimpu, Andrei Neguta made for the Russian press statements that do not promote the interests of Moldova, but of the PCRM.
Andrei Neguta is a member of the PCRM. He was named Ambassador in Moscow in November 2008. On May 28, 2009, he was the Communists Party’s second candidate for the presidency, but won no vote.
