Bridges and national public roads on a total length of 5,963 kilometers will be repaired this year. The Cabinet on Wednesday approved the program on the distribution of the 1.6 billion lei from the Road Fund, IPN reports.
“780.5 million lei will be used for works to maintain national public roads, 737 million lei – to execute extensive repair works on roads and engineering constructions, such as the R 26 Causeni-Salcuta road sector, the G 108 sector in Cobusca Noua, Anenii Noi. Also, money will be allocated for the completion of four bridges and the initiation of works on seven other bridges located on national roads,” said Secretary General of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Regional Development Angela Țurcanu.
A sum of 70 million lei will be allocated for performing works to design, evaluate roads and bridges and for purchasing land, while 12 million - for co-financing road rehabilitation projects. “The allocated budget will allow us to continue the rehabilitation and construction of roads and bridges as one of the priorities of the Cabinet and the Ministry,” noted the official.
