The Forestry Agency “Moldsilva” said that almost 58,000 Christmas trees will be offered for sale before the winter holydays. This is by nearly 10,000 trees more than last year. The evergreen trees at the Agency’s forestry companies will start to be felled in the middle of December, IPN reports.
The trees will be between 1 meter and 6 meters in height. Over 41,000 trees will be up to 1.5 m high. The price remained unchanged: 36 lei per meter of spruce and 25 lei per meter of pine.
“Moldsilva” warns that the fine for illegal felling is 2,000 to 1,500 lei for private individuals and of 20,000 to 25,000 lei for legal entities. The penalty also envisions community service.
This year the largest volume of evergreen trees will be provided by the forestry companies of Straseni, Edinet, Tighina, Calarasi and Hancesti. Those who want can purchase Christmas trees from 19 forestry entities managed by the Agency.
