The nine candidates for the post of governor of the National Bank of Moldova will be interviewed on March 1. The special commission for selecting the candidates admitted all the applicants to the contest, including the three who were to confirm that they worked in the financial-banking sector, IPN reports.
The commission’s head Stefan Creanga said that four of the candidates will present themselves at the interview. Three candidates will be interviewed online, while two are yet to specify if they will be in the country on the day of the interview.
The commission also set the criteria based on which the candidates will be interviewed. The political non-affiliation is the main criterion, which has the highest score. Stefan Creanga said it is very important to exclude any political affiliation of the future governor of the central bank.
After the interviewe stage, one candidate will be chosen and presented to Parliament for confirmation.
