Moldova’s representative at the 58th Eurovision Song Contest 2013, Aliona Moon, succeeded in qualifying for the final in the May 14 semifinal in Sweden’s Malmo with the song “O mie” (“One thousand”), IPN reports.
Aliona Moon sang the 12th being accompanied on the piano by Pasha Parfeni, who last year represented Moldova at Eurovision in Baku, Azerbaijan. She stood on a platform hidden under the dress, which raised her to a height of almost five meters. Aliona Moon’s dress was white and there were projected images of a starry sky and volcanic eruptions onto it while she was signing.
Nine more competitors of the 16 went though to the final together with Aliona. These are the representatives of Lithuania, Ireland, Estonia, Belarus, Denmark, Russia, Belgian, Ukraine, and the Netherlands.
The second semifinal will take place on May 16, while the final on May 18. Sweden and the countries that founded the contest – France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the UK – qualify automatically for the final.
