The actions taken by the Moldovan authorities do not seem to be part of a clear strategy for the country's reintegration, former Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea stated in the program "In the Context" on the public television channel. According to him, although both banks of the Nistru no longer depend on Russian gas, this fact does not necessarily mean the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, IPN reports.

"We see a number of actions that seem to be uncoordinated or that are not part of a clear strategy that would address not only humanitarian aspects, but also the perspective of resolving this conflict," the ex-deputy prime minister for reintegration stated on Moldova 1.

Alexandru Flenchea welcomed the conditions imposed on the Transnistrian region for this to benefit from the European Union’s support. According to him, these conditions are meant to ensure greater transparency and equity in the management of energy resources, but there is no certainty that they will be implemented by the so-called authorities in Tiraspol.

"The imposed conditions are good, but how can we ensure that they will be implemented? We have no leverage and no certainty that these conditions will be met," noted the former deputy prime minister for reintegration.

The European Union announced the allocation of additional financial support of €60 million to satisfy the electricity demand of the Transnistrian region by mid-April, which would cover about 70% of the pre-crisis social consumption. The EU financial support is conditional on the observance of human rights and fundamental freedoms, implementation of a fair pricing mechanism, exclusion of large industrial consumers from the support package.
