We must be concerned about the fact that the “Orhei” phenomenon multiplies, while the division of the pro-European forces only helps the “Shor” grouping to advance, said mayor-elect of Leova town Alexandru Bujorean. According to him, to hamper the expansion of the “Shor” phenomenon nationwide, the authorities should not only counter the inflows of money, but should also prevent the representatives of these parties from regrouping, IPN reports.

The mayor-elect of Leova noted that in his locality, the citizens are well-informed and any attempt by the Shor grouping to corrupt voters fails. The authorities should radically fight this “Shor” phenomenon, which is dangerous for the Republic of Moldova and compromises the whole election process.

“We, being closer to Gagauzia, which is a regional center of the Shor grouping, felt on our own skin the influence that comes from there. Enormous sums of money are distributed. The fight against the inflow of money will be an incorrect path as this inflow will not stop. We must fight against the scourge and the people who deal with his phenomenon. Impunity should disappear. If a party is banned tomorrow, this will migrate to another party. The voters remain the same and the money is further transmitted. There are regions in Moldova where the voters are well-informed and Shor simply does not go there. In Leova, Shor doesn’t come with money as this doesn’t help him. There was a candidate of the Revival Party there, but this got a paltry score,” Alexandru Bujorean stated in the program “Reflection Points” on Vocea Basarabiei channel.

According to him, given that the presidential election is coming, the forces of the right should combine forces to prevent the candidate of the pro-Russian forces from taking over.

“We must be alarmed at the fact that the “Orhei” phenomenon multiplies. As long as the forces of the right, the pro-European forces are divided and struggle against I don’t know what, this phenomenon will evidently expand. In the local elections, the division is convenient, but in the presidential election, the pro-Russian parties will regroup and unite. They will unite around a candidate as they will be unable to support two-three candidates. As to the declared pro-European ones, if they take a step back and say that they will not contend and will support a particular candidate, the situation will be clear,” said the mayor-elect of Leova.

In the general local elections of November 5, Alexandru Bujorean was reelected mayor of Leova with 73.28% of the ballot.
