Today's vote is a strong manifestation of the unity and responsibility of the Moldovan people, the Party of Socialists’ candidate for President of the Republic of Moldova Alexandr Stoianoglo stated in a briefing after the closure of polling stations, IPN reports.
"Dear compatriots, supporters and friends, today Moldova has spoken through you, its people. Your vote erased the boundaries between city and village, north and south, east and west, and your massive turnout is a proof of the fact that Moldova is not just a point on the map, with mere spectators, but a responsible country aware of its future," Stoianoglo said, highlighting the impact that the voter turnout had on the electoral process.
The candidate thanked the voters for the energy, involvement and trust they invested in this democratic process. Stoianoglo underlined the importance of each vote, stating that "every voter who entered the voting booth wrote a new chapter in the destiny of this country."
Finally, he noted that "the moment of truth is coming, in which every vote gains weight and defines our further direction."
